After having hosted this event virtually for the last two years it was a welcome change to take this event live. The most exciting part of this event was getting to transform Big Brothers Big Sisters’ store, Thrive Select Thrift, into an event space. What we loved most about using this space is that it is already branded to BBBSO. The space is so bright and vibrant.
This event is a high-impact one-hour fundraiser. The event was led off by Chris Phillips, former Ottawa Senator and local business owner. Chris talked about the impact mentorship has had on his career and how the work BBBSO is doing is key to the success of the kids in our community. The most impactful stories that morning were shared by current and former littles and bigs; bringing many in the room to tears.
