From the Dandelion Festival to the Surya Yoga Festival and the Kemptville Pride Parade, our approach combines passion with meticulous planning to create memorable experiences.
Surya Yoga Festival:
Overview: The Surya Yoga Festival, a collaboration between Julia of ITM Events and OmShanti from Bodhi Tree Yoga, is a celebration of wellness and community. Held for the first time in 2021, at the Kemptville Campus, the festival was designed to offer a day of classes and workshops. In 2022, we more than doubled the attendance and tripled the number of vendors.
- New Features in 2022:
- Meditation Tent: Introduced a meditation tent featuring a successful workshop on anxiety by our sponsor, Kemptville Stress Relief Centre.
- Instagram-able Moment: Created a unique activation with artist Luce Ends to enhance the festival's appeal and provide a memorable experience for attendees.
Kemptville Pride Parade:
- Overview: The Kemptville Pride Parade is an annual event celebrating diversity and inclusion within the community. This vibrant parade showcases local talent and fosters a spirit of unity and acceptance.
- Responsibilities:
- Event Planning: Coordinated parade logistics, including route planning, participant management, and safety measures.
- Community Engagement: Worked closely with local organizations and community members to ensure a successful and inclusive event.
- Vendor and Sponsor Relations: Managed relationships with vendors and sponsors to support the parade's success.
Responsibilities for Festivals and Community Events:
- Event Planning and Coordination: Conceptualized and executed event programs, including vendor management, ticket sales, and logistical coordination.
- Community Engagement: Built strong relationships with community members and organizations to enhance event participation and impact.
- Vendor and Sponsor Relations: Secured and managed vendor and sponsor partnerships to ensure a diverse and engaging event experience.
- Health & Safety Management: Implemented necessary health and safety protocols to ensure a safe environment for all attendees.
- Marketing and Promotion: Developed and executed marketing strategies to boost event visibility and attract attendees.
Julia's festival planning experience has also informed her skills in festival grant writing. The expertise gained from managing community events allows her to craft compelling grant proposals that effectively communicate the value and impact of projects.
